Open Access Policy

Biomedical Update is a fully Open Access journal. All articles published in the journal are freely and permanently available online immediately upon publication without subscription fees or access restrictions.

The journal believes that unrestricted access to scientific knowledge promotes the global exchange of research, accelerates scientific discovery, and improves healthcare outcomes.

Readers are permitted to:

  • Read and download articles free of charge.
  • Copy and redistribute published content.
  • Print articles for personal or educational use.
  • Share articles through repositories, websites, and academic platforms.
  • Reuse and adapt published material in accordance with the journal's licensing policy.

Digital Archiving Policy

PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

The journal participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, providing long-term preservation of published content in a distributed preservation network.

Internet Archive

Published articles are preserved through the Internet Archive, ensuring permanent public access and long-term digital preservation.

DOI Registration

Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), providing a persistent and permanent identifier that enables reliable citation, long-term accessibility, and stable linking to scholarly content.

National Library of Ukraine

As a Ukrainian scholarly journal, published issues are deposited and preserved in accordance with the applicable legal deposit and archiving requirements of the National Library of Ukraine, supporting the long-term preservation of the national scholarly record.

Institutional and Repository Archiving

Authors are encouraged to deposit the published Version of Record in:

  • Institutional repositories
  • Subject repositories
  • University libraries
  • Personal or institutional websites
  • Research-sharing platforms, where permitted by the journal's licensing terms

Proper citation to the original publication in Biomedical Update should always be provided.

Permanent Availability

The Editorial Office is committed to maintaining uninterrupted access to published content.
