Copyright and licensing

Copyright Policy

Authors who publish in Biomedical Update retain the copyright of their work without restrictions. By submitting and publishing their manuscripts, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, and make the article publicly available as part of the journal.

Authors are free to share, distribute, and reuse their published articles immediately after publication, provided that appropriate acknowledgment is given to the original publication in Biomedical Update.

The opinions and statements expressed in published articles are solely those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Editorial Board, reviewers, or the publisher.

Licensing Policy

All articles published in Biomedical Update are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

Under the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license, anyone is free to:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Adapt — remix, transform, translate, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial use.

These permissions are granted provided that users:

  • Give appropriate credit to the original author(s) and the journal.
  • Provide a link to the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)
  • Clearly indicate whether changes were made to the original work.
  • Do not imply that the authors or the journal endorse the reuse unless they have expressly agreed.

No additional restrictions may be applied that would legally limit others from exercising the rights granted by the license.

Authors retain the following rights:

  • Copyright ownership of their published work.
  • The right to deposit the published Version of Record in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal websites, or other non-commercial and commercial platforms.
